An important date for your diary – the Great Holmfirth Dukc Race on Sunday 1st July 2012.
Organised by the enthusiasts at the local Round Table group, the annual event starts with hundreds of brighly-coloured ducks being tipped into the River Holme, in the centre of Holmfirth.
Local residents and vistors can sponsor each duck, with a big prize for the first one past the finishing line.
It’s a popular day out, there are events, stalls and sideshows for the many hundreds of visitors – and all proceeds are for charity.
