Bus passengers across the Valley will be only too aware of the possible changes ahead to services in and out of Holmfirth. And there will be a chance to find out more details, as well as ask questions, at a special session at Holmfirth Library this Thursday, February 7.
The open session will be run between 10 and 3pm and representatives of both First and Metro will be on hand to answer individual queries.
Holme Valley Bus Review spoke to around 135 people last year and the changes will come into effect this April.
Main themes were:
- The need for a fast, direct bus service between Holmfirth and Huddersfield – planned is a half-hour service which will also speed up journey times from Hepworth and Scholes.
- Four buses per hour passing Holme Valley Memorial Hospital so providing more services to all parts of the Valley.
- Possible loss of a direct link from Netherthong and Oldfield to Huddersfield.
- Planned reduction to hourly of a through bus to Huddersfield from Thongsbridge Village.
