Gilbert & Sullivan to American Wrestling Holmfirth Style

From the rousing tunes of Gilbert and Sullivan…to action-packed all American wrestling! Those are among the events to look forward to in Holmfirth in the next few weeks
First on the cards is an evening of Ballads, Songs and Snatches from the Gilbert & Sullivan Operas, see photo left. The entertaining concert take places at Holmfirth Parish Church on Saturday 30th. January starting at 7.30pm.
All are welcome and light refreshments will be served during the interval. Entertaining are Huddersfield Gilbert and Sullivan Sociey.
As a complete contrast comes the dramatic Live American Wrestling to the Holmfirth Picturedrome on Friday 5th February, doors open 7pm.
There are 6 action packed matches on the cards including a special Tag Team Challenge and the infamous I Quit match.

At Holmfirth Civic Hall in February, you can find out about the history of New Mill. “New Mill Past and Present in Pictures and Documents” is the title of an illustrated talk by David Cockman using pictures and documents collected by Civic Societys Local History Group
The talk is being held in Holmfirth Civic Hall on Thursday 18th February 2010, 7:30pm. Visitors are charged just £1 on the door
